My favourite place in London is getting a lot of positive press. See this month's COS magazine for photography by Misha De Ridder and It's Nice That Issue 8 for photography by Jake Green.

Tree Hotel
Seriously considering this for my next holiday. Located in Harads, Sweden is Tree Hotel, a series of shelters up in the trees. This one (below), by Tham & VidegĂ„rd Arkitekter is a lightweight aluminum structure hung around a tree trunk, a 4×4x4 meters box clad in mirrored glass. Bird friendly too.

Serpentine Pavilion: Peter Zumthor
As soon as I caught word of its opening, I decided to hot foot down Hype Park on my lunch break to see it. The building was designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, with "a garden within a garden" designed by Piet Oudolf. I really enjoyed Jean Nouvel's red pavilion last year, and loved the concept for this one too although they are a total contrast.

ABC of boat bits
I came across this lovely little book in Margaret Howell. It's by a print-maker called James Dodds. It's a very practical and handy guide I wish I'd been given when I learned how to sail. Look out for "Alphabet of boats" with some nice woodcuts and "ABC of printmaking".

Boxpark
Last week this container appeared on the corner of Shoreditch High Street. Founder of Boxfresh Roger Wade is taking the pop-up shop to the next level and creating the world's first pop-up mall. Using shipping containers certainly isn't a new concept but if this project is well executed in August 2011, it could be rather good.
