Out of the Box
Gestalten launches a new book on brand experience this month. A great mix of small, temporary and flagship stores that evoke a memorable experience and emotion from the consumer. Here are some of my favourite retail spaces (I'm sure there are plenty more) featured in the book.

Hussein Chalayan Airbourne
Went to the launch of Hussein Chalayan's new fragrance and book at Dover Street Market today. I love the print on the inside of the box (as seen on the flyer below).

Mulberry in a book
To celebrate 40 years of Mulberry and their beautifully crafted leather goods, the British label have released a book. Oh my gosh what a book! It's beautifully conceived and has delightfully full page photographs of the last two years of catwalks, campaigns, and the HQ of Mulberry.

ABC of boat bits
I came across this lovely little book in Margaret Howell. It's by a print-maker called James Dodds. It's a very practical and handy guide I wish I'd been given when I learned how to sail. Look out for "Alphabet of boats" with some nice woodcuts and "ABC of printmaking".

Franz Kafka
Book covers designed by Peter Mendelsund (who, by the way has a fantastic website 'to browse'), published by Schocken.

Ministry of Stories
Remember Brooklyn's Superhero Supply Store? London's very own 826 literacy project launched yesterday called The Hoxton Street Monster Supplies designed by We Made This. Hopefully the first of many Ministry of Stories to be set up. Some my favourite British writers Nick Hornby, Zadie Smith and David Nicholls have been appointed as ministers.

Tom Pollard
This series of HG Wells books are in response to the Orion brief for D&AD Student Awards 2010 designed by Tom Pollard. I first saw these book covers on formfiftyfive in April, and remember being a bit envious of this and the rest of his work. I met him this week only realizing afterwords who he was. A sound guy with some really good work. This project will be featured in the D&AD Student 2010 Awards Annual.
