2011.

A year captured on Instagram. Not as much traveling as I'd like. This changes in 2012.

Hussein Chalayan Airbourne

Went to the launch of Hussein Chalayan's new fragrance and book at Dover Street Market today. I love the print on the inside of the box (as seen on the flyer below).

Serpentine Pavilion: Peter Zumthor

As soon as I caught word of its opening, I decided to hot foot down Hype Park on my lunch break to see it. The building was designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, with "a garden within a garden" designed by Piet Oudolf. I really enjoyed Jean Nouvel's red pavilion last year, and loved the concept for this one too although they are a total contrast.

Madethought: Ten Years Yesterday

Ten years of excellent packaging and print work showcased in the small, yet mighty Woodbridge & Rees. I'll share my favourite work by Madethought starting with catalogues and invites for Established & Sons. At the bottom is the identity of Design Miami.

NSW: 1948

Nike's East London concept store 1948 has had a redesign in preparation for 2012 Olympics. It's new look is certainly more grown up in comparison to when it first opened in 2008.

Nordic Bakery

The new second location for this Scandinavian London cafe is New Cavendish Street. It still has that wonderful cinnamon smell and some great Finnish design such as Alvar Aalto tableware and Tapiovaara Pirkka benches and tables.

Monocle Marylebone

I stopped by the London's Monocle shop whilst in Marlybone. It's very small but is very much like the magazine: packed with lots carefully curated Monocle approved picks.

Ministry of Stories

Remember Brooklyn's Superhero Supply Store? London's very own 826 literacy project launched yesterday called The Hoxton Street Monster Supplies designed by We Made This. Hopefully the first of many Ministry of Stories to be set up. Some my favourite British writers Nick Hornby, Zadie Smith and David Nicholls have been appointed as ministers.
