I adore these mid-century modern Sainsbury packaging designs.

Out of the Box

Gestalten launches a new book on brand experience this month. A great mix of small, temporary and flagship stores that evoke a memorable experience and emotion from the consumer. Here are some of my favourite retail spaces (I'm sure there are plenty more) featured in the book.

Artek kitted "Nothing Happens For A Reason" cafe and installation in Turku (as seen on front cover), Aesop pop-up in Paris shop Merci, Capellini and OHWOW flagship space in New York, Chocolate Research Facility in Singapore.

Stockmann

Kokoro & Moi have redesigned the packaging concept for department store Stockmann, in Helsinki.

NK Stockholm

Nice shades, equally nice box.

Pino Helsinki

Pino, which means a ‘pile’ or ‘stack’ in Finnish. A nice design shop with a nice identity, designed by BOND.

Brooks England

Beautiful, handcrafted bike saddles, cycle bags and accessories. Brooks have bags of experience and tradition (over 150 years of it).

Akroe: Sixpack lookbook

Life NK

An everyday beauty range by Space NK. Packaging design is by BOB. The lovely bear illustrations (by Mio Matsumoto) are inspired by the small stone bear that Space NK founder Nicky Kinnaird carries in her handbag.

Irn Bru

For their 108th year they have produced 5,000,000 limited edition cans (one for every person in Scotland) using a vintage design from 1947. This was also in correspondence with the Homecoming Scotland 2009 OFT!
